Preparation for the 2011 Season of the Grassroots Youth Football League is well underway.
Please see the message below from Greg Steed, NFL BJ and GYFL Director of Officiating. . .

    All,

    The 2011 Grassroots Football League (GYFL) season is fast approaching.  I received
    the officiating contract a couple of days ago;  therefore, if you would like to officiate this
    season, please review the attached officiating contract and return (via e-mail) the
    signature page to me by Thursday, April 7.  Those who worked last season can relate to
    the competitiveness of the teams and how beneficial it is to get on-field snaps during the
    off-season.

    The League added three (3) teams this season; therefore, there will be five (5) games
    each Saturday, beginning May 7 at 10am.   The regular season ends June 11, followed
    by two weekends of playoff games (June 18 and 25), and finally an All-Star game July 2.

    We will work four man mechanics; as well as the chains and game clock.  It has yet
    been determined whether three or four crews will be used each weekend.   However,
    your input and suggestions are appreciated as to what may be the best format to cover
    the games.  Each week, critiques of your performance may be provided by
    current/retired NFL and/or College officials.  

    If you know of officials who may be interested in officiating GYFL games, please forward
    this e-mail and have him/her contact me via e-mail as soon as possible.
