P.O.T.D. - June 11, 2008
RULING:

The ruling is dependent on a couple of things.

First, what exactly is a "crack back block"?

Second, was A82 lined up more than 7 yards outside of the middle offensive
lineman? If by "crack back" it is meant that A82 blocked the B62 in the back,
then it is a 10 yard, previous spot penalty, making it 2nd and 19 on the b49.
If "crack back" means that A82 clipped B62, i.e. hit him in the back below the
waist, then it is a 15 yard previous spot penalty, making it 2nd and 24 on the
a46. If "crack back" means that A82 hit B62 in the side or front below the
waist, then it depends on A82 initial position. If he was within 7 yards of the
middle offensive lineman, there is no foul. If he was more than 7 yards from
the middle lineman, then it is an IBW; penalize 15 yards from the previous
spot for 2nd and 24 on the a46. If "crack back" means that A82 hit B62 in the
side or front above the waist, there is no foul.

If there is a penalty, the clock starts on the snap because of the TD, and the
play clock is set to 25. If there is no penalty, TD. Play clock is set to 25.
